How long can the electricity be stored?
The storage unit has a capacity of 1.5 kWh and the energy remains in the storage unit until you use it; storage losses are minimal. So, if you were not actually using any electricity, the battery would remain fully charged for many days to weeks if the storage unit is switched off. If the storage system is switched on and no new energy is coming in from the sun, your SolMate will remain active for 1-2 weeks and will then be empty for good. Basically, the storage unit is intended as an intermediate buffer – during the day (when the sun is shining) it is filled with surplus energy and you can then use this surplus at night.

How long are the SolMate cables and is it possible to extend them?
By default, the cables from the panels to the storage tank are 5 m long and from the storage tank to the socket 2 m long. If this is too short for you, you can use a standard extension cable from the DIY store to bridge the distance between the storage unit and the socket. Alternatively, 10 m long cables are also available between the storage unit and the panels. You can also use so-called MC4 cables to further extend the distance to the panels. In general, however, we recommend that the distance from the panels to the storage system should not be much longer than 10 m in order to avoid a loss of power.

How does stand-alone operation work?
If the SolMate® is in stand-alone mode, power can be drawn from the SolMate® via the socket supplied by the stand-alone inverter. A maximum of one device of protection class I (device with metal housing) may be connected to the appliance socket, but several consumers of protection class II may be connected at the same time.

Can I combine SolMate with my own photovoltaic panels?
Yes, of course you can! You can find the SolMate naked in the online store. It comes with all the necessary cables and adapters to connect existing standard panels. However, the panels must not have more than 44 volts and must be connected in parallel.

How many panels can I connect together and operate with one storage unit?
The SolMate includes 2 standard panels (370Wp). One or two more panels are possible and provide additional power, especially with suboptimal alignment. Even with more panels, however, no more than 800 watts are ever fed in.

How long is my warranty?
EET passes on the manufacturer’s guarantee for all components. The modules have a performance guarantee of 25 years. The inverter has a product guarantee of 15 years. But even if the components have reached the end of their service life, they are far from broken. End of life means that the panels still have 80% of their original output. EET’s warranty conditions

Do I have to register my mini PV system with the grid operator?
The registration process can vary from grid operator to grid operator. In principle, the systems are not subject to approval and a simple registration form must be accepted by each grid operator.

Can different panel types with different voltages be connected to SolMate at the same time?
Yes, SolMate has two PV inputs and different panels with different voltages can be connected to each input. Only panels with the same power may be connected electrically in parallel to the same input, but the voltage levels of the two inputs may be assigned differently. Nevertheless, the voltage window of 26-44 V must be observed.
